The new swimming pool of Dudince was constructed with the help of the EU structural funds, through SACR (Slovak Tourist Board). Its first successful season in 2007 pleased the Spa clients, as well as wide public. The brand new premises are called after the fairy Dudinka that gave healing power to the local spring of Dudince, as the legend says. Sun rays, pleasant touches of water and rich possibilities of refreshment assure numerous unforgettable moments for the small and big visitors.

HISTORICAL DAY in Banská Štiavnica
- Visit of the Slovak Mining Museum
- Old kastle – the oldest architectonic monument in Banská Štiavnica is a demonstration of almost all architectural styles, from romanesque to baroque style. It represents a picture of history of the whole Banská Štiavnica region since its oldest times. In the Museum you will see exhibits of pipe workshop (pipes from Banská Štiavnica were known not only in the territory of today Slovakia), exhibition of period archery targets, examples of work of an unknown late-gothic painter, who signed his pictures as MS, and many other unique objects.
- New kastle – as a part of the town fortification system in the times of anti-Turkish fights, it represent a though period in the history of the town, as well as the whole Slovakia. Among the most interesting exhibits, there are: a statue of a man-sized Turk by Dionýz Stanetti and period weapons of both fighting sides. This robust watch-tower with corner bastions offers a magnificent view of the town and its surroundings.
Town tour – a short walk through the town, during which you will learn about the most interesting town monuments. You will have a chance to enjoy the magic historical atmosphere.
MINING DAY in Banská Štiavnica
- Visit of the Slovak Mining Museum
- Kammerhof – the largest architectural complex in Banská Štiavnica – “Pantry yard” (Komorský dvor) offers an exhibition dedicated to history of mining in Slovakia and many unique technical exhibits, e.g. historical machines and their models functional up to the present day. The Mining and Forestry Academy – the first technical university in the world is an inherent part of history of Banská Štiavnica.
Walk through the town stress – in Banská Štiavnica there are many things worth admiring:
- Historical monuments, houses of townsmen, or well-known St. Trinity Square (Námestie Sv. Trojice) will
Impress every visitor. Unique local colour of this historical mining town is accompanied by beautiful nature.
- Visit of the Slovak Mining Museum – Open-air Mining Museum in Nature with examples of technical mining works and shaft made accessible for the ones interested; there is a possibility of going down the shaft to underground – to the mine, the oldest parts of which date back to the 17th century. This unique experience will be long remembered by adults, as well as by children visitors.
Štiavnické ponds - route along unique system of water reservoirs, so-called “tajchy”, which are an inherent part of Banská Štiavnica region. When looking at their beauty, one would hardly believe they are not made by nature, but by a man; and that they were created thanks to mining activities.
HUNTING DAY under Sitno - on this day you will convince yourself that the locality around Banská Štiavnica has a rich history and many mining works, as well as stunning fauna and flora.

In romantic premises of the manor house you can admire parts of unique collections of the original owners – the Koháry and Coburg families, both of them keen collectors, hunters and nature lovers. This baroque-classicistic manor house – in the past known as Antol – will fascinate its visitors by precious exhibits, such as: wedding gift from Maria Theresa given to her daughter, Maria Antoinette, personal things of the Bulgarian tsar Ferdinand Coburg, or a historical bedroom of the crown prince Rudolf, son of the well-known and famous empress Sissi.
Besides classical exhibition, the visitors can enjoy seasonal events, such as the Days of Hubert (Hubertove dni) or Night tour through the manor house. Together with exhibition of hunting, beautiful park area with a view of the legendary hill of Sitno, this manor house belongs to jewels of Dudince surroundings.

Štiavnické ponds (“tajchy”)
A unique system of ponds in the surrounding of Banská Štiavnica is an ingeniously designed mining work, which does not serve its original purpose anymore; however, it is much enjoyed by people on holiday, who use these ponds as almost iconic place of spending summer holiday with rich possibilities of water sports and hiking.

Amidst beautiful nature under the hill of Sitno, members of the falconry group of St. Bavon will show you the mastery of this ancient and noble way of hunting, rather favourite in our country in the past.
“VITICULTURE DAY” in Sebechleby
– afternoon in one of the best known viticulture localities of former third largest viticulture region in Ugria
- A tour through the local folk architecture reservation – viticulture village called Old Forrest (Stará Hora) with its picturesque small viticulture houses so-called “chyžky” (shacks)
- Visit of the local museum – a house with original interior equipment supplemented by a unique collection of folk costumes, cooking utensils and other interesting exhibits, which you can see nowhere but in Sebechleby.

You will spend a day full of untraditional experiences in a breeding farm with aviaries of ornamental and breeding pheasants:

STOPÁRSKY DEŇ in Pukanec - follow the traces of treasures of the past.
There are many interesting things from the region history waiting for you on the route Dudince – Žemberovce – Bátovce – Bohunice – Pukanec and back. Discover the traditional architecture of picturesque rural seat with typical utility buildings, such as water mill in Bohunice, or tunnels of ore mines in Pukanec.
DAY BY DAY in Brhlovce and Levice
You will see how time passes if you visit these two geographically near, however, rather different localities. Brhlovce, the smallest village in the Levice district, will attract your attention by its unusual dwellings carved in the rocks.
In the district town Levice you can choose to visit the Tekovské Museum in Levice Castle, or walk through the town centre, full of restaurants, cafés and shops offering many things to a contemporary visitor. |
