Cycling in Slovakia - Bratislava and Pezinok

Travel to Slovakia. We meet our guide at the airport and transfer by bus to town Pezinok where we will be based for the next three days. In the evening we can go out for a drink to one of the local traditional wine cellars, restaurants or bars. Bratislava – Pezinok 45 minutes to drive. Another option is to take a train from Bratislava main station to Pezinok.

Castle Cerveny Kamen “Red Rock” (45 Km). After breakfast our bikes will be ready for us outside the hotel. From the Pezinok castle we follow street Trnavska and then street Senkvicka heading to village Senkvice. Cycle through this village and carry on to village Vistuk. Just before getting into the village on our left we can see a small lake and in the distance the fascinating castle Red Rock. This castle is one of the most impressive castles in Slovakia. After the visit the we return back to Pezinok cycling through town Modra famous for its winemaking.

Sunny Lakes and traditional vine cellar (25 Km). Today we will cycle to town Senec, which is well know for its sunny lakes. Those lakes are ideal for many water sports. We can also have either a nice swim after yesterdays cycling or can relax either by the sunny lakes or why not to try the thermal waters. To have a nice feel of the lakes we will cycle around the lakes all the way around before returnig back to Pezinok. In the evening our company will organise a visit to one of the traditional vine cellars owned by a local family for you, where you will have the chance to do some traditional vine tasting and try some traditional food.

Crossing the Small Carpathian mountains (32 Km). In the morning we will cycle through the vineyards before disappearing into the Carpathian forests. Cycling up this hill is the hardest part of the trip. However once getting on the top of the hill this will be followed by a very enjoyable cycling 17 km down hill. Passing many mountain streams and some rocky cliffs makes this unforgettable part of today’s cycling.       

Rivers Danube, Morava and Castle Devin (50 Km). After breakfast we carry on cycling west. Soon we get on the bank of river Morava where we join the green cyclist's path heading to Devin Castle. Cycling on the bank of river Morava all the way to Devin Castle is a very enjoyable part of today’s cycling. Once we visit the castle we carry on cycling to the centre of Bratislava where we will check-in to our Hotel.     

Banks of river Danube and wild life (50 Km). Today is our last day of cycling. Cycling on the banks of the Danube is one of the highlights of this trip.
