During this trip we will trek from hut to hut. Every night staying at a different mountain cottage or hotel. All bedding will be provided, therefore no sleeping bags will be needed. Each mountain cottage provides basic rooms with number of beds, usually 4 – 6 beds in each room. Toilets are usually on each floor. Mountain cottages are not to far from each other, therefore each day you will walk for about 4 – 5 hours. After reaching your next overnights stop (mountain cottage) you will have the option to do some additional walks around the cottage. On this trip you will have the opportunity to climb the peak Rysy. Walks during the week are not too difficult but good potential of fitness will be needed. In some parts there will be chain handrails to make the walks safer. Over all this is a week of excellent mountain walking with a chance to see some of the mountain animals such chamois, eagle and others. Come and we will show you the nicest parts of the magnificent and still untouched part of the Tatra Mountains.
Day 1.) Travel to Slovakia
Check-in to our hotel in Stary Smokovec in High Tatras. |
Day 2.) Zelene Pleso
Walk to Zeleno Pleso cottage (green lake). On the way we will have some pisturesque views. Zelene pleso is a wooden cottage providing some basic rooms and evening dinners. |
Day 3.) Zamkovskeho Chata
Walk onto the Tatranska Magistrala passing the mountain lake Skalnate Pleso and cascading waterfalls with chamois and marmots around us. |
Day 4.) Sliezsky Dom
Walk to mountain hotel Sliezsky Dom passing cascading waterfalls. Optional walk to peak Velicky Stit (2199m) |
Day 5.) Popradkse Pleso
Walk to mountain hotel Popradske Pleso, famous for the mountain lake nearby. |
Day 6.) Peak Rysy
Today is a day of reaching one of the highest peaks in the Tatras called Rysy (2499m) Second night in Popradske Pleso. |
Day 7.) Descent to Strbske Pleso
After breakfast we leave Popradske pleso waking down to Strbske Pleso. This is the easiest day. |

On day 1 and day 7 we normally use 3 star hotel as this is the most popular standard. On request different standard can be provided.
On days 2,3,4,5,6 simple accommodation in mountain huts. Rooms have simple furniture with no TV and bathrooms on each floor. Mountain huts normally provide rooms with 4-6 beds.
Please Note: on days 4,5,6 we stay in mountain hotels offering also rooms with higher standard and it is possible to upgrade your accommodation to more comfortable rooms with TV and own bathroom. Single room
is possible only on days 1,4,5,6 and 7
